By Don Maclafferty, Founder/Director

It is time. This is the time to pour our hearts and our very lives into discipling every child, youth, and family to Jesus Christ! Young and old are searching for something real, someone to trust, someone to hang onto while the world becomes increasingly chaotic.

Jesus is that Someone! So many do not yet know Him. Millions rush through their routine every day without hope for their hearts or their families. Many parents want their children to have a strong faith in God . . . but they do not know how to begin. What can we do?

We can make the discipling of children and families as accessible as possible – with your prayer support. Parents, grandparents, and other mentors need to have resources in their hands that will make discipling their children simple. It is time!

In January, 2012 on the back cover of the Adventist Review we will introduce two new DVD resources to the world church: K.I.D. Home Edition and K.I.D. Church Edition. These powerful resources will equip you to grow as a disciple of Jesus Christ and to become a disciple-maker of children and families.

	K.I.D. Home Edition
This power-packed, free downloadable DVD gives you simple yet proven ways to lead your family in a discipleship walk with Jesus. K.I.D. Home Edition is designed for single parents, grandparents, and families who want to learn how they can be intentional about being a disciple of Jesus Christ! In January 2012 you can visit our website to download K.I.D. Home Edition training as well as free lessons to disciple parents and children. These lessons – Footprints for Parents and Mentors, and Footprints for Kids – will continue to be sold as well by AdventSource for those who would like the notebook copies.

	K.I.D. Church Edition

This inspiring, practical DVD training tool leads churches in equipping families to grow as disciples of Jesus. Your church can see the day when God calls families together again. And your church can see the day when children and families are living with the joy of a personal relationship with Jesus that they can’t help but share with their friends and neighbors. The new K.I.D. Church Edition DVD training tool will make K.I.D. training much more accessible around the world.
Share K.I.D. Church Edition with churches in your area with two simple steps:

Attend K.I.D. Coach Training – a free, life-transformational 2 ½ day training to equip you to facilitate the K.I.D. Church Edition DVD training.
Lead K.I.D. Church Edition training for your church or community. This tool will be available at AdventSource after you have completed K.I.D. Coach Training.

We are deeply grateful to the North American Division as well as the Pacific Union and AdventSource for their partnership in helping make this DVD a reality. Please be praying as we prepare to share these resources around the world. Pray that God will share this training like the leaves of autumn . . . and that thousands – even millions – of children and families will become disciples of Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Children and Youth Impact General Conference Leaders

The Inside-Out Leadership team had the privilege of accompanying Pastor Don Maclafferty, Founder/Speaker of Kids in Discipleship, on his journey to bring the world church leaders back to their discipleship calling. The team consisted of 17 Collegedale Academy students, along with a mix of adults and elementary school students. Together the team led around 250 world church leaders into reviving their personal relationship with God, encouraging the discipleship of their own families, as well as challenging them to lead with their God-given vision by collaborating to disciple every child in and outside our church.
“A few weeks before my choir director told me I had the opportunity to go to the Seventh-day Adventist General Conference Headquarters, I had been praying daily that Christ would use me boldly for Him. Lo and behold, that prayer would be answered in a way that will forever change my life,” said Bethany Otis, a senior from Collegedale Academy. Her declaration of a life change describes the transformation in each student and adult that took part in the Inside-Out Leadership training at the General Conference Headquarters.

The grandness of the mission was heavy on each member’s heart. Many of us entered the experience with a bit of uneasiness. Yet, our nervousness disappeared as a power not our own took over and led each word spoken. As Pastor MacLafferty led the group in God’s word, the individuals in the room were bombarded with the reality of their busy outward lives and inadequate inward conditions. Many began to realize that their ministry had become focused on their own works, and had ceased to move in the Spirit’s direction. Cayla Raney, a junior at Collegedale Academy, unknowingly summed up the difference in these paths when she shared, “The whole trip was just so prayer oriented. We would always burst into prayers.” The Spirit was not something the team talked about, rather He was someone we called out to and confided in. The Spirit dwelled in our hearts.

This became evident as the meetings provided opportunities for large and small groups, comprising of children, students, and adults alike, to recount their personal experiences and struggles. The meetings became a unifying experience in which world church leaders were dumbfounded by the words of the youth, and in turn, the youth were awestruck by the power God had given His leaders. The meetings served as a perfect example of how the body of Christ impacted by the Spirit is a force that can accomplish Christ’s mission to make disciples of all nations.
