Helen Durichek

Treasurer

Helen and her family moved to Collegedale in 1969. She has served on the staff of Southern Adventist University (SAU), the Collegedale Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Greater Collegedale School System. During this time, she sponsored student organizations at Collegedale Academy and very much enjoyed contact with the students. Before retiring from SAU, she served in Financial Administration for many years and found this time to be both challenging and rewarding as she worked with the crews which maintained the campus and its buildings.

Why am I an In Discipleship staff member?

The family is the God-ordained unit in this world designed for the development of every child. The main objective of my life has been to support each member of our family and others within my sphere of influence in their growth in Jesus. As I understand it, this is the goal of the Kids in Discipleship program which I have supported with my prayers and resources. When I became aware of the Center's need for someone with my skills to join the staff, I felt that this was another way I could promote the work of Kids in Discipleship. It is a privilege to work with this team of dedicated people who are coming beside parents to work for the salvation of the children of our Church.

Favorite Bible verse:

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:4-7 Taken from the NIV
